Mangoes, Garlic, MUSHROOMS, Salmon, Green Tea, Yogurt, Almonds and Spinach!
Read all about it! Keep your immune system in check!
Kennett Square, PA is "small town America" at its best. We are so fortunate to live in an area that has so much to offer. Flowers and mushrooms are our claim to fame though! Visit Longwood Gardens or visit The Mushroom Cap. No comparison in size but both worth the trip if you like what our area boasts about!

Kennett Square in a bottle

Visiting Kennett Square? Be sure to stop by The Mushroom Cap to see our museum pieces from the original Mushroom Museum that was once located on the strip between Longwood Gardens and our quaint little town - (The Mushroom Cap is just 2.7 miles from Longwood). You may just want to stop by for a souvenir like no other!
If you are a collector of unique items from around the world you may want to add Kennett Square Potpourri to your collection. Inside this one ounce jar is spent mushroom substrate that comes from our family farm located here in mushroom country. Our beautiful white mushrooms were grown in this substrate. The cork jar is glued shut so you don't get the benefit of that often mentioned "mushroom smell" which we have all become accustomed to. Forget the smell - mushrooms are soon to be on the "Super Food" list!
Have fun while you are here! And be sure to ask to taste Kennett Square's Favorite Gourmet Snack when visiting The Mushroom Cap too!

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Since Mother Nature decided to visit over the weekend with a record breaking "weekend before Christmas" snow storm she certainly put the skids on all of us "last minute" shoppers! It was nice to see some borough residents out for a stroll during the storm.
Boots, snowpants, snowsuits and snowbibs were the request of the day at The Growing Tree - children's department! Some got just what they needed, others did not. Our ladies department had a pair of gloves for that one person who forgot hers! Yes, The Mushroom Cap and The Growing Tree are in the same building - never know what you are going to find at 114 W State Street in Kennett Square, PA.
The snow brings back childhood memories of growing up in Kennett Square - sledding down Lafayette Street from Ridge Avenue down to Scarlett - long walk back up but oh, what a ride, sledding in the backyards of homes on Mason Avenue where one of the neighbors made an ice ramp - I jumped on a sled, six others piled on top -I couldn't breathe - scared me to death! The best memory was walking with my Mom to my grandparent's house on Broad Street! Everything becomes so peaceful when there is a significant snowfall.

Rain, rain go away - come again another day

Shopping in Kennett Square today was hampered by the pouring rain. Carriage rides had to be canceled - we have to take the good days with the bad don't we?
Get your last minute shopping done at The Mushroom Cap. We will be shipping most of the fresh mushroom orders out by Wednesday. For those last minute orders - no later than Monday or they won't arrive in time for the holiday. Several gift boxes of two jars of marinated mushrooms and our Mushroom Chowder will be shipped tomorrow. Great taste of Kennett Square. and only $24 plus shipping.
