Why the clothing?

When seeking out The Mushroom Cap you will look inside the glass front door and see women's consignment clothing, a few gifts and say, "there are no mushrooms here!" Look again! The Growing Tree shares the building and is celebrating 25 years in business this year! Women's clothing and accessories were added in the Spring. The economy encouraged a little diversification and our customers are liking it!

The Fresh Mushrooms, Mushroom Food Products, Mushroom Exhibit and Mushroom Gifts are just down the center aisle! You will find some of the best marinated mushrooms here as well as Kennett Square's Favorite Snack, Roasted Portabella Mushroom Pasta Sauce, Mushroom Chowder, Kennett Square Mushroom Soup, along with Mushroom Capital of the World t-shirts, magnets, Christmas ornaments and more. Be sure to stop by for a cup of Harrington's Coffee - Kennett Square Blend #45!

We recently got a supply of Maitake supplements! Just yesterday a visitor from Annapolis, MD was thrilled to find Maitake tablets - his wife's breast cancer Dr. had suggested that she take them. Eat mushrooms and live longer! Who said that?

You just never know what you might find at The Mushrom Cap at 114 W State Street in Kennett Square! See you soon!

Snack N Shrooms™ - Kennett Square’s Favorite Snack - update

Looking forward to the holidays! Need a unique gift? Why not introduce your family and friends to Snack N Shrooms? The fact that we've sold over 600 ounces since July just by giving samples speaks volumes!

These are great stocking stuffers for your son or daughter who won't eat mushrooms cooked or raw because they don't like the texture! These are different. Most kids who taste them like them a lot! They are mushroom chips! Low fat - mushrooms and seasoning! The best thing about these tasty little mushroom silouettes is that they are mostly crispy, sometimes chewy and should never be wasted - throw them in your favorite recipe for an awesome flavoring!
Three flavors now available: spicy mild, spicy hot and low salt spicy mild! We also have seasoned mushroom powder/spicy mild available. This product is great for flavoring your favorite dishes too!

Snack N Shrooms™

Was lucky enough to get some publicity in the Kennett Paper for my Snack N Shrooms!

Where have I been? What have I been doing? Making and selling snacks! And working on the Mushroom Festival. Festival is coming together - last minute details to work out. What would we do without volunteers?

People have been visiting The Mushroom Cap and seeing that they are going to miss the Mushroom Festival and are very disappointed. A couple was in from Germany this week on their way to NYC. (they purchased two ounces of spicy snacks and one of mild). Two weeks ago a couple was in from VA to buy their pink admission wristbands for the festival as well as their farm tour tickets. People are calling every day wanting information. This event brings people home to Kennett Square! Friends and family alike! Gotta love Kennett Square!

Mushroom Capital of the World - t-shirt

Weeks ago a woman came into The Mushroom Cap and asked if we had any shirts or hats with "Mushroom Capital of the World" on them. I did not at the time but knew that it was something that I needed to have. Her son was traveling to China in three weeks to study for eight weeks. He wanted something to take with him from the "Mushroom Capital of the World". I promised that I would have shirts done. Here is the design that I came up with. The best of all is that the young man who was going to China said he loved the shirt! He took 4 of them with him. There is a small mushroom on the map where Kennett Square is. We have this shirt in black, green and red.
